My Goal in Blogging

I started this blog in May of 2008, shortly after my election to the School Committee, because I believed it was very important to both provide the community with an opportunity to share their thoughts with me about our schools and to provide me with an opportunity for me to ask questions and share my thoughts and reasoning. I have found the conversation generated on my blog to be extremely helpful to me in learning community views on many issues. I appreciate the many people who have taken the time to share their views. I believe it is critical to the quality of our public schools to have a public discussion of our community priorities, concerns and aspirations.

Final Interview: Thursday, February 3, 2011

So, let's hope the third time's the charm:  the third finalist, Maria Geryk, will interview tomorrow (8 to 9 am MS cafeteria and 2:30 to 3:30 WW library are open meetings with the public;  6 to 8 pm ARHS library is an open interview with the SC).  Here's the Gazette story on the delay:  http://www.gazettenet.com/2011/02/01/geryks-appearances-and-interview-postponed-amherst.

Is the meeting really 2:30-3:30 at the WW library during school hours? Perhaps that is the wrong time.

For the record, is there any protocol or anything that people attending the WW library meeting ought to do or should we just walk in any open door?

And where is the library relative to the parking lot? I have never been in Wildwood before. I probably am not the only such person.

Perhaps someone from the consulting agency could offer to greet people at the front door and direct us to the library?

The meeting is indeed at this time and in this location, which is precisely the same time and location as we had with the first two finalists. The WW library is very easy to find - just enter the front door, and make the first left down the hallway (you can also ask teachers/staff/parents as you enter the door if you haven't been to WW before). Parents and community members haven't reported any trouble finding the library in the prior two visits.
