My Goal in Blogging

I started this blog in May of 2008, shortly after my election to the School Committee, because I believed it was very important to both provide the community with an opportunity to share their thoughts with me about our schools and to provide me with an opportunity for me to ask questions and share my thoughts and reasoning. I have found the conversation generated on my blog to be extremely helpful to me in learning community views on many issues. I appreciate the many people who have taken the time to share their views. I believe it is critical to the quality of our public schools to have a public discussion of our community priorities, concerns and aspirations.

Can you provide a little context for agenda item #2, please? Thanks CS.

Tom G - sorry, this isn't clear! The Regional SC has voted to invite firms to interview (this isn't about Union 26, but rather broader representation), and we are trying to finalize dates that work for at least a quorum. These interviews will also be open to the public.

I used to work in big law firms in the Information Technology (IT) department. We installed and supported systems that did document production/management, billing, AP, Lexis, Nexis, Westlaw, etc. I was sometimes involved in providing answers to questions about law firm IT from prospective clients searching for a new law firm. You may have an RFP in which you ask the prospective firms to answer questions about expertise, existing clients, references, staffing, billing rates and expenses. If not, it would make the interviews more substantive.
